Nadroga unfazed
NADROGA FC is determined to deliver a strong performance in the opening match of the Rooster Chicken Scoops Ice Cream Battle of the Giants tournament at the HFC Bank Stadium this week.
Nadroga is drawn in a competitive pool alongside host Suva, Rewa, and Ba.
Their schedule sees them face Ba on Friday at 1pm, Rewa on Saturday at 3pm and their last pool game against Suva on Sunday at 12pm. Newly-appointed coach Kamal Swamy believes his main area of focus is Ɲtness and assisting the players to understand the game.
“The pool is equally divided, and we are grouped with experienced teams such as Rewa, Ba but we are fortunate to be in the top eight and be part of this competition.
“Our main focus is to improve on our Ɲtness and work with these young players to understand the game,” Swamy said.
Swamy, who is a schoolteacher by profession, expressed great respect for their opponents.
“Suva, Ba, Rewa are all good and experiences teams, and we have a lot of respect for them, but we will do our part and make our fans happy,” he added.
Despite not having big names to bolster their campaign, Swamy has faith in his players.
“Majority of our players are youth players, and we will give them an opportunity to shine, all the players in our squad are capable of producing positive results,” he added.
The Nadroga FC team is looking forward to showcasing their talent and determination on the Ɲeld.
With a focus on Ɲtness and team cohesion, they are prepared to take on the challenges of the tournament and make a signiƝcant impact.
