Tricorn de Michael Schoner
Architecte, cet Allemand vit à Rotterdam, où il conçoit du mobilier urbain. Curieux des matériaux, il a utilisé, pour sa série baptisée Elevator, un métal ultra résistant, habituellement utilisé en parement pour ascenseurs, dont il a aimé la surface « martelée », qui prend bien la lumière.
Il a conçu avec une forme d’économie un banc, une table basse et des luminaires sculpturaux, qui jouent sur l’opposition entre le côté massif de leur forme et la légèreté de leur matériau. Michael Schoner est représenté par la galerie A1043, à Paris.
Michael Schoner’s Tricorn
This German architect lives in Rotterdam, where he creates street furniture. Fascinated by materials, he made the pieces in his Elevator series from a highly resistant metal normally used in elevator cabins, which appealed to him for its “hammered” surface that catches the light. Exercising economy of means, he crafted it into a bench, a coffee table and sculptural lamps, playing up the contrast between the solid forms and the lightweight material. Michael Schoner is represented by the gallery A1043 in Paris.
