A timeless seventies allure

- A.L.C.

What’s new. After seeing his work at an

AD Intérieurs exhibition, the first lady of France invited him to refurbish the Pompadour room of the presidential palace. This ESA-trained architect, who turned to interior design after early experience in construction, is not at all intimidated by grandeur. Style. Gigantic bronze doors, a ceramic-lined wall, made-to-measure furniture… Thierry Lemaire works closely with artisans—artists in his words—for all of his projects, experimenting with materials and cultivating a timeless seventies-tinged elegance. Examples in 2020 include a historic chalet in Gstaad as well as apartments in London and Geneva. Furniture. The Paris-based designer is devoting more and more of his energy to the production of exceptional furniture pieces.
