Georges Dorignac, (1879-1925), studied at the Municipal School of fine art in Bordeaux and then went on to produce colourful paintings influenced by the impressionist and post-impressionists. He later became known for his striking ‘noir’ portraits in charcoal. www.musba-bordeaux.fr
