Bordeaux J'Adore - - Exploring - www.vallee-dordogne.com www.theatrales-collonges.org

The ancient village of Collonges-la-rouge was painstakingly restored by local citizens. The houses are built with a vibrant red sandstone, and set against the verdant countryside, the color is quite striking. The church dates from between the 11th and 15th centuries, but its foundation goes back to an 8th century abbey. Interestingly, the church has two naves. In the 16th century, Roman Catholics and Protestants used the same church but different naves. If you can, time your visit to coincide with the open-air theater productions held each summer, Les Théâtrales de Collonges-la-rouge. Théâtrales de Collonges-la-rouge, from July 18 to August 22
