ANCIENT OLIVE TREE

CONCIERGE – The F1 Inside Track - - BEYOND THE TRACK | EXPLORE -

Roquebrune-cap-martin’s ancient olive tree was very nearly chopped down in the early 20th century, but was saved by local historian Gabriel Hanotaux. Said to be at least 1,000 years old, some experts claim it even dates back to biblical times. It still produces olives, as well as plenty of shade on hot days from its 18m-wide foliage.
