CHÂTEAU DE CHAMBORD
In 2019, the Chambord National Estate is celebrating its 500th anniversary! An exceptional, UNESCO World Heritage-listed artistic masterpiece, the château has been inspiring and fascinating visitors for five centuries now. Festivities and celebrations are due to take place for the occasion, with the emphasis on its founder, Francis I, and Leonardo da Vinci, the château's inspiring architect: 2019 will also mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci in Amboise.
A total of nine projects will be rolled out this year, including the “Chambord, 1519-2019: From Utopia to Masterpiece” exhibition, reconfigurations of the king's itinerant court décor by scenographer and interior designer Jacques Garcia, new kitchen gardens and the building of a wine cellar for Chambord's vineyards.
En 2019, le Domaine national de Chambord fête ses 500 ans ! Oeuvre d’art exceptionnelle inscrite au patrimoine de L’UNESCO, le château suscite toujours admiration et fascination. De nombreuses festivités sont organisées à cette occasion, centrées sur François Ier, son fondateur, ainsi que Léonard de Vinci, l’architecte inspirateur. En effet, 2019 marque également le 500ème anniversaire de la mort de Léonard de Vinci à Amboise.
Neuf projets sont donc mis en place cette année, tel que l’exposition « Chambord, 1519-2019 : l’utopie à l’oeuvre », le réaménagement du décor de la cour itinérante par le décorateur et scénographe Jacques Garcia, l’aménagement de jardins potagers, ou encore la création d’un chai pour la vigne de Chambord.
