- ADVERTORIAL

The French department in the Ile-de-France, Yvelines’s capital is Versailles, which was once the French capital under the Ancien Régime (Old Regime) and during the early years of the Third Republic. Today, the department is famously known for the Château de Versailles, which is listed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

The Palace of Versailles, the estate of the Sun King, welcomes millions of visitors each year and represents one of the jewel figures among France’s most prominent monuments and one of the finest architectural creations of the 17th Century. Lose yourself in this magnificent palace and its mystifying gardens. To help organize your visit, France Tourisme offers a full range of tours and services allowing you to make the most of both your time spent travelling (less than 45 min. from the centre of Paris by direct bus) and your tour of Versailles including guaranteed "Skip-the-Line" access, 3 guided tours per day or audioguides if you prefer a visit at your own pace inside the castle. A full visit takes an entire day, but it’s possible to visit the castle’s main attractions and the gardens in half that time.
