This exhibition pays tribute to the pivotal roles played by two art dealers and publishers of the 19th and 20th centuries: Ambroise Vollard, an iconic figure in the art trade and a passionate publisher who worked with the greatest artists of his time, including Picasso, Bonnard, Chagall and Maillol. And his successor Henri Marie Petiet, who was a major figure in the postwar print trade and who supported many artists, including Marie Laurencin and Marcel Gromaire. Discover an exceptional collection of prints, illustrated books and publishing objects (bronzes and ceramics), made up from the many gifts and bequests left by Vollard and his heirs.

Cette exposition rend hommage au rôle prépondérant de deux marchands et éditeurs d'art des XIX et XXE siècle : Ambroise Vollard, personnalité emblématique du commerce de l'art, passionné par l'édition, qui travailla avec les plus grands artistes de son temps : Picasso, Bonnard, Chagall, Maillol… et Henri Marie Petiet, son successeur, figure majeure du commerce de l'estampe d'après-guerre, qui soutiendra également de nombreux artistes comme Marie Laurencin ou Marcel Gromaire. A découvrir un ensemble exceptionnel d'estampes, livres illustrés et objets d'édition (bronzes et céramiques), issu des nombreux dons et legs de Vollard et de ses héritiers. Jusqu'au 29 août 2021.
