“My father was a physicist, and every morning he put on a shirt and a suit. When I was four years old, I followed him around while he got dressed. I remember asking him to teach me how to tie a tie. To this day, I’m still inspired by what he showed me.“
The shirt is from Ralph Lauren’s RRL line. I have about 15 Western-style denim shirts, and I wear them until they fall apart. They’re a pillar of my style. I think this one is about five years old.
In 2007, I bought my very first watch, a Porsche Chronograph 1. After buying it, I found out that it had been designed by Ferdinand Porsche in 1972. It was the first time he designed something that wasn’t a car [ED: this legendary watch is also said to be the very first all-black watch in history].
A vintage ring made from silver and onyx. It reminds me of the ring my father wore.
The suit is from Ring Jacket, a family-owned business founded in 1954, which has its own factory. The quality of their fabrics is impressive. Their suits are comfortable and made with modern materials, but they still have a classic elegance.
Belgian shoes for me too. A lot of guys in the garment or tailoring industry wear this type of comfortable, no-lace shoes. I have two pairs myself.
