SUMMER QUARTERS

-

“Bruce Nauman”, Until June 21; “Congo”, 9 July - 15 November, Fondation Cartier, 261, bd Raspail, Paris 14, T + 33(0)1 42 18 56 50.

The summer gets off to a good start at the Fondation Cartier with American artist Bruce Nauman who has selected a recent body of work, displayed for the first time in France, alongside some older installations. This ensemble shows a wide range of the mediums that the artist has explored in the course of his career and reflects his particular attention to the environment around his works and to the physical implication of the public. Then, the Fondation will take us to Africa: the Congo is the scene of extraordinary artistic activity which will be in the limelight in a great show that takes the birth of modern painting in the 1920's as a starting point. Sculpture, photography and music will also testify to the creative richness of this country. A show curated by André Magnin.
