Constantin Laan entered the world of design after studying Economics in the United States. He's obviously changed directions in choosing his new career out of a passion for wood, a material which he glorifies in his charming atelier in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. He creates furniture which combine wood and metal (mostly bronze). Why furniture? Because for him it implies an alliance between the functional and the imaginary. He's not afraid to flout the constraints of classical furniture by his use of contemporary materials.
