“Imponderable : The Archives of Tony Oursler”, 6 July – 20 September, Fondation Luma Arles, Les Forges, Parc des Ateliers, Arles

Exploring the complex relationship between artistic production and the archives is one of the most fascinating research subjects among the goals of Luma Arles. “Imponderable” is an extensive research project – curated by Tom Eccles and Beatrix Ruf – that investigates the personal collection of American artist Tony Oursler. More than 2,500 photographs, publications and unique objects, from the early 18th century to the present, track a social, spiritual and intellectual history. The project was commissioned and produced by Maja Hoffmann's Luma Foundation for the Parc des Ateliers in Arles.
