Spring-summer 2016

Marie Claire Fashion Shows - - Edito - Anne-Sophie Thomas, Fashion Editor in Chief at Marie Claire

This month of runway shows was like a roller-coaster of emotions that has left little rest for beating hearts. A few designers parted ways with the fashion houses that employed them, some well in advance, others taking us all by surprise. At the same time, young designers were signing their first and much awaited collections for illustrious institutions. In the midst of all this commotion, young Parisian wolves cut their teeth on the big scene while Milan, following Gucci’s example, shed its old skin to find a new youth. But emotions were above all born on the catwalks. Everyone agrees that designers have conspired to imagine a summer where lightness, purity and comfort are key, with a lingerie inspiration tying it all together. A refreshing season that turns a white and pure new leaf, like a blank canvas on which to draw many promises for a beautiful new dawn.
