A PROCESSION OF WOMEN
Are they priestesses or witches? These mystical women have slipped into their ecclesiastic armor, and march under the medieval pointed arches of the Conciergerie. In a soundscape of liturgic music, Julien Dossena focuses on the traditional dimension of clothing. Impressive, with their beaded fringes, these dresses are in full chainmail, covering faces under hoods reminiscent of monastic robes. Collars are high and strict, but subtly softened by rich English embroideries. Gipsy folklore is also called up through Liberty prints on a black backdrop, and shawl-like fringed dresses.
