Final Thoughts

Luminar Neo is the first full AI image processing software. Even if it doesn't offer all the features today, it gives fantastic results. The major benefit you get is speed and performance enhancement. In addition, the code is almost fully rewritten to make it less memory hungry. The raw processor is fantastic, but you must use it first in your raw images processing. If you use any other tool before the Develop module, it will deactivate it. Remember, it is an early stage of the software, and many improvements and new features will come in future updates. However, layers are back, and it is a great improvement over Luminar AI. The erase tool is greatly improved. You can now remove Powerlines accurately from your landscapes. Unfortunately, it doesn't remove the powerlines poles. You will have to do it manually, but the toll is ultra-precise. Sky and Portrait AI are two great features you will probably use a lot unless you're a photojournalist.

Luminar Neo is a great application. But is it better than Luminar AI? honestly, not right now, with future updates, it will become a must-have tool. The major benefits are the use of layers and performance improvements.
