MODEL BEHAVIOUR

The Africa Report - - MAILBAG -

Rwanda is my model country for Africa [‘Clare Akamanzi: We have made it easy to do business’, TAR107 Apr-june 2019]. One of the issues African countries have is stringent visa policies that hamper economic growth. In my experience, one takes less than three minutes to go through Rwanda’s immigration services. Rwanda is ranked 29 in the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business index, and it is felt when you are on the field. As a business person, all you need to know about investing, registering your business and knowing the right institutions for a specific request can be obtained online. This is a country where government doesn’t look like government – it operates with the mentality of private institutions.
