The Africa Report - - QUARTER -

The debut novel of Caine Prize-winner Tope Folarin – who won the African writing award for his short story ‘Miracle’ in 2013 – will be out on shelves in August. Taking inspiration from his childhood as the son of Nigerian parents living in Utah, Folarin weaves a rich coming-ofage story about a man named Tunde who is shaped by his immigrant upbringing and tumultous family life. Maaza Mengiste, author of Beneath the Lion’s Gaze, writes that ‘Tunde’s world – broken and alive, vivid and painful – bursts from these pages with unforgettable honesty and heart.”
