With Angola's post-war boom came a reconfiguration of relations between Angola and Portugal. Isabel dos Santos was the most public face of an investment drive targeting Portuguese firms, with Angolans buying into many different sectors of the economy. Dos Santos has a big stake in telecoms firm NOS, shareholdings of engineering company EFACEC and an indirect interest in energy company Galp Energia. She is among several who have bought into media groups and the banking sector, with Angolan shareholdings in finanancial institutions BNI Europa and Atlântico Europa. Dos Santos also has a sizeable interest in the bank BIC Portugal. Meanwhile, Angolan state oil company Sonangol also turned its sights northward and insists that it is going to keep its stakes in Banco Comercial Português and Galp Energia during its current privatisation and divestment campaign.
