It is with a great pleasure that I invite you to discover this 2016 Winter edition of VERTDEVIN magazine. I am enthusiastic about this new issue ! For this publication I chose to put a spotlight on four great Napa Valley wineries and on three French domaines (Champagne, Saint-Estèphe, Pessac-Léognan). This magazine is the result of exciting trips, tastings, discoveries and meetings !
So in the first part of the magazine you will discover beautiful wineries from Napa Valley and France. In the second part you will discover Nicolas Frion pairing, a great and promising Chef from Bordeaux. He is the Chef of the famous restaurant Le Gabriel. N. Frion created especially for VERTDEVIN a few recipes to pair with wines. These customized creations will tickle your taste buds !
In the third part I invite you to discover and savor a few great wines & spirits. You need to have in your cellar these few good values. In the fourth part you will find 600 Wine & Spirits reviews.
Bordeaux is one of the largest and one of the most renowned wine regions in the world. We believe its reputation not only runs through the names of some very famous châteaux and exceptional winemakers but its wealth is also more complex, more diverse. In this magazine you will find presentations of some wines from Saint-Emilion, Médoc, Pessac-Léognan and Côtes-de-Bordeaux wines (Blaye, Cadillac).
Napa Valley is one of my favorite american wine locations. This state has a great diversity of terroir which is unfortunately often overlooked. There are lot of different terroirs in the same valley that are no longer seen as a global appellation but that gain recognition step by step. In this section you will find more than 200 Napa wines from all districts !
Alsace is a great wine region adjoining the slopes of the Vosges. It produces mainly white wines of which some are among the most famous in the world. For this time I chose to introduce you some Late Harvest wines. Perfect wines for your family dinner, aperitifs or holidays festivities.
Champagne is a product synonymous with festivity, sharing, gastronomy and terroir. It is a unique wine, both in quality and in terms of notoriety. This product has a special place in my heart that can be summarized by the famous quote of Napoleon Bonaparte «I drink Champagne when I win, to celebrate... And I drink Champagne when I lose, to console myself.» For this issue I chose to introduce you some great Rosé Champagne to enjoy all the time !
Cognac... what can I say about this great drink It’s one of the most famous spirits in the world and one of my favorite delicacies. In this magazine you will find some VSOP Cognac reviews.
Armagnac is also an emotional choice but also a choice because of the soil, the quality of life as well as the great traditional and historical heritage.
Don’t forget that Armagnac is the oldest Eau-de-vie distilled in the world. An Eau-de-vie that despite centuries of production, a beautiful diversity of style, terroir and properties is still relatively unknown.
Rums... I’m definitely in love with Rums ! There is a great undiscovered richness and diversity of flavor, terroir, style in this kind of spirit. It’s possible to find a rum for each time, each occasion, each taste of one’s life. Rums to enjoy on the rocks, with a cigar, as an apperitif, a digestif or to pair with a whole meal !
