Château Haut-Brion 2012

Pessac-Léognan, Grand Cru Classé de Graves

-

The nose is elegant, fine, elegant, fruity and relatively powerful. It reveals notes of blackberry and cassis associated with a hint of fig, spices as well as a hint of violet flowers, liquorice and green pepper. The palate is fruity, gourmande, sleek, well-balanced, suave and offers a beautiful precision of fruit, a nice definition, a small juiciness, a racy minerality, tension, a fine acidity (in the background) as well as a beautiful, fleshy and silky matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry, black cherry jam and cassis associated with a touch of redcurrant, raspberry as well as a hint of wild strawberry, licorice, a discreet hint of chocolate and slight touches of oak. Tannins are elegant. Good length and persistence with a discreet hint of truffle.
