Château Charmail 2014

Haut-Médoc - Cru Bourgeois

-

The nose is fruity and relatively mineral. It reveals notes of blackberry, crushed cassis and slight notes of strawberry, flowers (lily, violet) associated with a find of hawthorn (discreet), Sichuan pepper as well as a discreet hint of chocolate and toasted oak. The palate is fruity, mineral, fresh, well-balanced, well-built and offers a slight acid frame as well as freshness. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of blackberry, juicy strawberry and slight notes of cassis, cherry associated with a discreet hint of Quetsche plum as well as slight notes of toasted oak, mocha, zan (very discreet) and black tea. Tannins are fine and a bit young (wait at least 1 year). There is suavity, a slightly gourmand side and a slightly salty taste on the finish.

Score : 15.5
