D’Eça - Reserva 2011

Douro

-

The nose is fine, relatively powerful, elegant and quite aromatic. It reveals notes of blackberry cream, blueberry and slight notes of plum associated with hints of crushed raspberry, mocha, toasted, spices as well as a hint of Cuben pepper and a very discreet hint of olive/olive tree. The wine needs to be decanted (carafe). The palate is fruity, mineral, suave, well-balanced, elegant, supple, slightly gourmand and offers a beautiful mineral frame as well as a silky matter. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of crushed blackberry, plum and raspberry jam associated with slight notes of small red berries, spices, oak, zan, tobacco as well as a discreet hint of roasting. Tannins are slightly dry (slight over-extraction). There is suavity on the persistence.
