Winemaker’s voices

Château d’Yquem

-

Above all, wine is my trade. It is a product that I have really discovered in depth and appreciate for what it is when I have been studying. Previously I especially enjoyed wine for its biology, for the materials that it revolves around (chemistry, microbiology…). If I chose to be an oenologist it is for this scientific approach above all because I wanted to apply it to a noble product.

My family always loved wine.My father was a great wine lover and so he initiated me. I really learned to love wine for what it is during my studies so eventually quite late. From then on, the wine became the object of all my attentions.I try to detach myself from it during my personal time even if on holiday I can not help but visit vineyards, to taste… My passion often catches up with me… my husband takes me there very often too.

Wine is associated with gastronomy, meals… it is the Wines & Food pairing… I am an epicurean, I like good things and therefore very gourmand. Not long ago I had the honor of attending the traditional vigneron lunch organized by Jean-François Piège. Every year he invites the winegrowers who provide the wine and offers them lunch.Every winegrower must bring a bottle… and there are only great wines! We tasted a Muscat 2008 and a Joseph Jamet Côte Brune 1991 (Côte Rotie) that really moved me!
