Focus on Yann Bouscasse, co-owner

«I have not always been in the wine industry. I worked for a long time as a marine broker in the transportation of natural gas and liquefied gas. I always liked wine and a good table… I was very friendly with François Nony Borie. Thanks to him I discovered and tasted most of the Médoc wines.

We have long sought property in the Médoc but… we did not find anything that was financially within our means, with a seductive terroir and where we could do a lot of things to improve the quality. One day François heard about a property of Blayais for sale. It was in the budget, there was a lot to improve and the terroir looked good. So we came to see it and we quickly fell under its spell… We embarked on this adventure at 50 years old! It was a bit of our mid-fifties crisis…

We have absolutely reviewed everything (vineyard, production tools) with the sole objective of being able to produce great wines. We knew it was going to be difficult but we did not suspect that it would be as difficult to take on a vineyard! Our first vintage was the 2003. In 2004 we launched the Tours of Cantinot and in 2009 the cuvée Orbite (made from whole grapes).»
