Château Cantinot 2009
Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux
The nose is aromatic, slgihtly powerful and finely structured. It reveals notes of fresh cassis, fresh cherry and slight notes of fleshy strawberry, blackberry associated with discreet hints of toasted oak as well as a subtle hint of vanilla, a hint of flowers, minerality and a very discreet hint of undergrowth/truffle (very discreet). The wine needs to be carafed. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, silky, elegant, finely fleshy and offers freshness, minerality (racy minerality) a nice definition, a slight intensity as well as suavity. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy boysenberry, wild strawberry and slight notes of redcurrant, cassis associated with hints of licorice, vanilla oak as well as a subtle hint of sweet spices. Tannins are fine and well-built. Good length. There are a very discreet hint of pepper and a very discreet hint of cacao on the aftertaste.
