Focus on red wines : Freshness, Tension And Finesse!

2016 is a beautiful vintage generally despite some heterogeneities on some appellations / terroirs.

There are pretty deep robes and intense colors obtained from the first juices… It was not necessary to multiply the pumping to concentrate the color and aromatic palette. Overall, the red wines present a nice tension / freshness, a good balance, ripe fruit but fresh, a delicate fat and a degree of alcohol less than on «solar vintages such as 2009. The seeds offer a good maturity thus bringing Ripe tannins and sometimes even fine almond notes. There are good structures, powerful but still in finesse. These are wines that already offer a good gourmandise, a good «drinkability» and a very good potential aging. Note that in some terroirs (plateau, gravels …) it is possible to find in the wines slight vegetale notes (bell peppers, ivy, cassis bud) probably due to a blockage of maturity or water stresses. However, most of the time this, which could turn out to be a «fault» is easily forgotten by the other qualities of the wine.
