Château Bernateau 2014
Saint-Emilion Grand Cru
The nose is fruity, gourmand and offers a slight richness as well as a beautiful elegance. It reveals notes of blackberry, fresh cassis and slight hints of fresh red berries associated with a hint of raspberry, terroir/clay as well as a subtle woody hint, sweet spices and a very discreet hint of licorice. There is a discreet hint of violet after aeration/work in the glass. The palate is fruity, fresh, well-balanced and offers juiciness, an acid frame as well as a slight richness. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of fresh blackberry, cassis and slight notes of plum associated with touches of fresh raspberry/red berries as well as hints of toasted oak, cacao and a very slight hint of roasting oak on the finish. Tannins are fine, racy and polished. Good length.
