Château de Laubade 1989 Brut de Fût
Bas-Armagnac
The nose is fruity, gourmand, elegant and offers a small charming/silky side as well as a slight power (but full of balance). It reveals notes of Zante currant, mirabelle, dried Tangerine and green lemon zests associated with a subtle hint of white flowers as well as touches of rancio, a subtle hint of dried apricot and grilled oak. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, soft, silky, precise, suave, powerful (but full of balance) and offers straightness as well as tension. In the mouth this Armagnac expresses notes of dried lemon zests, dried Tangerine and slight notes of candied Tangerine, dried orange, kumquat associated with a subtle hint of dried apricot, touches of blond tobacco, grilled oak, cedar wood, spices and an imperceptible hint of nuts (in the background) as well as subtle hints of almond and cacao on the persistence. Good length.
