Balblair - Vintage 1990

Highland, Single Malt Scotch Whisky

-

The nose is powerful, concentrated and offers a nice richness, depthness and complexity. It reveals notes of Zante currants, dried apricots and hints of dried orange zest associated with fine touches of cedar wood, subtle hints of spices, caramelization as well as a subtle toasted hint and an imperceptible hint of Sichuan pepper. The palate is fruity, wellbalanced and offers a beautiful suavity, a fine unctuosity / creaminess, a beautiful delicacy / finesse, a nice complexity as well as a small aerial aspect. On the palate, this Scotch Whisky expresses notes of Zante currants, candied lemon and dried mandarin zest combined with a subtle hint of prune, dried cherry, a touch of nougatine / pâtisseries as well as a discreet touch of cedar wood, cocoa / wood and a very discreet touch of toasted oak. Great persistence. A beautiful Scotch !
