This chardonnay has cool climate written all over it from its aromatic profile that is zesty with undertones of green apple and a keen acidity level. However, it’s been fermented and aged in oak which provides a nice plushness and creaminess as well as vanilla & caramel accent.

3 Generation­s Riesling 2017 was touched by all three generation­s that are now running the vineyard. This bone dry, serious Riesling shows finesse and quite an aromatic style showcasing blossoms, melon, ripe peach and a delicate minerality. It’s broad and nicely composed.

Wagner, Dry Riesling Caywood East vineyard 2012 Finger Lakes, Seneca Lake

Wagner Vineyards is one of the oldest wineries around Seneca Lake. It’s a good example of the aging potential of Finger Lakes Rieslings. Centrally located on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake, they were also one of the firsts to try out single-vineyard wines. This silky smooth Riesling has clean-cut nectarine and lime aromas, mineral component and a bold voluminous body. The finish has a fine and smooth astringenc­y to it. It is dry in style, yet with a lush, fruity finish.

Wagner, Estate Bottled Meritage 2012

This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot is only produced in exceptiona­l vintage, or to say, years with favorable growing seasons for these varietals. It’s fruit-forward, rich with ripe aromas of plums, dark chocolate and young cedar. The tannins are smoothly textured, but also surprising­ly dense for the region. Its low alcohol content leaves place for the actual flavors to shine through.

Lamoreaux Landing, Blanc de Blancs 2007 Finger Lakes, Seneca Lake

The first sparkling vintage for Lamoreaux Landing was 1990. The sparkling wines, separately fermented from 20 different vineyard blocks and later blended, are all made with estate fruit. This Chardonnay based sparkling wine is a very toasty and yeasty. Even with its age, it still shows delicate orchard fruit component. The palate is broad and nicely creamy. It shows excellent balance and freshness.

Round Rock vineyard is a five acre plot on the east side of Seneca Lake in a rather elevated situation. It’s a very focused and precise wine, with a bright linear acidity level. The aromas are ripe and aromatic, showcasing tangerine, white blossoms, stone fruits and a persistent slate-like minerality. The palate is quite light-bodied and refreshing.

Rich and rounded in style, this single-vineyard Riesling has layered aromas of honey, lemon peel, orange zest, and a spicy side to it, ginger and white pepper corn. The texture is silky, but also quite enfolding. On the palate, it gives out flinty undertones and a mastered balance between acidity and

sweetness levels.

Atwater estate, Sparkling Gewürztram­iner 2013 Finger Lakes, Seneca Lake

Vividly refreshing in style, the aromas linger of rose water perfume in this unusual sparkling wine. Other than the impactful floral aspect, the wine shows bright citrus flavors, white peach and very slight saline cracker autolytic note. This wine is made of 90% Gewürztram­iner, 10% Chardonnay with 4 years and a half in tirage.

Atwater Estate, skin fermented Gewürztram­iner/ Chardonnay 2016

This equally parted blend was macerated and fermented on their skins for 15 days for the Gewürztram­iner ad 18 days for the Chardonnay. The wine is cloudy, unfiltered and possess an impressive body and structure. The aromas are savory & rich with earthiness, dried fruit & orange jam. It’s complex and surprising at the same time with a wild, but refreshing acidity alongside.

Oak fermented Riesling from a single block with a distinctiv­e creamy richness from its off-dry character. Exuberant aromas of lime zest, aromatic herbs and hazelnuts. The palate is wide and rich with an added spicy and savory character. Overall, it’s quite a complex and well-balanced wine.
