There are notes of crunchy wild blackcurrant, flowers and, more slightly, spices combined with hints of crushed wild strawberry, bright wild black berries, nutmeg, black tea and a very discreet hint of sap and pepper. The palate is fruity, mineral, discreetly tight and offers freshness, tension, energy, fatness, roundness and a certain gourmandise. On the palate this wine expresses bright Morello cherry, pulpy/very ripe blackberry and, more slightly, crushed wild red berry notes combined with hints of liquorice/zan, camphor, spice, discreet hints of iris/lys, vanilla and a subtle hint of black tea and sweet blond tobacco. Good length. Good (and discreet) work on the bitter taste, especially on the finish. Score : 15.25+/20 (90-91/100)

The nose is aromatic and offers a nice fine grain, intensity, accuracy and an elegant and pretty aromatic palette. There are notes of fleshy blackberry, ripe wild strawberry and, more slightly, ripe blackcurrant combined with fine touches of morello cherry, violet, lily, delicate hints of liquorice, black tea, very fine saline notes and a hint of pepper and fresh cloves. The palate is fresh, mineral and offers fatness, roundness, pulpy/mouth-watering fruit, a fine acidic backbone, a nice tannic structure, elegance, roundness as well as a nice definition and gourmand texture. On the palate this wine expresses crunchy boysenberry, pulpy blueberry and slightly violet notes combined with hints of morello cherry, liquorice, chocolate, Bourbon vanilla bean as well as hints of black tea, nutmeg and a touch of roasted hazelnut. The tannins are elegant, structuring, racy and well-managed. Good length. Nice freshness, definition and complexity.

The palate is fruity and offers freshness, minerality, good definition, a certain gourmandise, a nice tannic structure, tension, richness and balance, controlled power, roundness, energy and an acidic structure. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of morello cherry, fairly ripe blackcurrant and, more slightly, chocolate, combined with hints of star anise, blue berries, violet and lily, as well as fine hints of Bourbon vanilla, sweet spices, toasted hazelnut and a fine hint of roasting. The tannins are fine, racy and elegant. They need time to be soften. Very good persistence (16 caudalies).

The tannins are tightly wound. A subtle hint of cola in the background. A very discreet hint of fresh coffee on the finish.
