Château Lamothe-Cissac 2014

Haut-Médoc - Cru Bourgeois

-

The nose is fruity, quite elegant as well as relatively generous/rich. It reveals notes of blackberry jam, fresh cassis and slight notes of Gariguette strawberry associated with hints of crushed raspberry, a hint of blueberry as well as slight hints of flowers (violet, lily), licorice and a woody finish (it gives roundness and complexity). The palate is fruity, fine, mineral, racy, well-balanced, relatively fresh and offers an acid frame, fat, a good definition, a good volume as well as a slight suavity. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of blackberry, strawberry, raspberry and slight notes of cassis, redcurrant associated with a hint of violet, blueberry, licorice as well as slight touch of toasted oak and vanilla. Tannins are fine and wellbuilt. Good length. There is a juicy side on the finish (blackberry, strawberry), and a discreet hint of iodine and coffee on the persistence.
