Les Pagodes de Cos d’Estournel 2014

Saint-Estèphe

-

The nose is quite powerful enough, spicy and offers concentration / richness, a certain opulence as well as gourmandise. It reveals fine notes of cassis, sour cherry, blackberry, racy minerality and spices associated with slight notes of curcumin, clove and zan. The mouth is fruity, mineral, silky, racy, well conducted, relatively powerful and offers an acid frame, a nice definition, a nice freshness, a small unctuosity as well as purity. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of blackberry and cassis cream combined with slight notes of wild strawberry, plum, sour cherry, licorice, toasted oak and a discreet hint of vanilla. Tannins are fine, elegant and well-built. Good length. There are slight touches of licorice, tobacco and a very slight grilled hint on the persistence.
