Nero d’Avola Lagnusa 2015

Sicilia The nose is fruity, gourmand, racy, voluptuous and quite elegant. It reveals notes of blackberry cream, cassis and cherry combined with fine touches of juicy berries, earth / terracotta, a discreet note of blueberry, fine touches of spices as well as an imperceptible hint of Cuben pepper and an imperceptible toasted hint. The palate is fruity, gourmande, harmonious, «clean», racy, delicate and offers a nice suavity, fat, a fine unctuosity, a beautiful precision / definition, minerality, a good guideline, a beautiful matter and a fine fresh frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of ripe cherry, dried raspberry and fine notes of crushed cassis, earth associated with fine touches of small ripe / juicy berries, zan, caramelized oak as well as subtle hints of sweet spices. Tannins are fine and well-built. Good length and good persistence. The persistence is gourmande and offers touches of chocolate, sweet spices and a discreet hint of roasted hazelnut.

Sicilia The nose is aromatic, fine, fruity, racy, elegant, finely enchanting, finely powerful and offers a very slight intensity (but full of finesse). It reveals notes of black cherry, blueberry and hints of cassis associated with slight earthy notes/terroir, plum, discreet hints of sour cherry, raspberry as well as a discreet hint of chocolate, Cuben pepper, licorice and caramelization/ ripe almond. The palate is nicely fruity, well-balanced, nicely racy, slightly tight and offers a slight density, a slight minerality, roundness, a slight suavity, a fresh frame, a beautiful expression/definition as well as a slight tension. In the mouth this wine expresses slight hints of ripe blueberry, wild Boysenberries and discreet/(very) slight hints of ripe raspberry, earth associated with slight notes of plum, licorice/zan, cardamom, a subtle hint of chocolate as well as a discreet hint of racy minerality. Tannins are fine, racy and very discretely firms. Beautiful gourmandise on the finish. Good length and good persistence. A beautiful, racy wine!

Sicilia The nose is fruity, aromatic, gourmand and offers depthness and concentration. It reveals notes of crushed Bigarreau cherry, crushed ripe cassis and fine notes of ripe wild strawberry, blackberry associated with subtle touches of blueberry, licorice, caramelized oak, dark chocolate, a subtle touch of black olive as well as an imperceptible touch of olive and green cardamom. The wine is marked by its terroir. The palate is fruity, wellbalanced, racy, very gourmande and offers a nice definition / delicacy, a beautiful suavity / fat, depthness, a mineral frame, complexity as well as a silky and slightly unctuous matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of cassis jam, blackberry and fine notes of blueberry associated with touches of ripe red fruits (red berries, cherry), touches of chocolate, toasted oak, vanilla as well as a subtle touch of praline, terroir / soil and black olive. Tannins are well-built. Good length. There are a hint of minerality, a hint of melted chocolate and a hint of caramel on the finish.

Sicilia The nose is fruity, aromatic, finely concentrated and offers gourmandise. The wine needs to be decanted. It reveals notes of crushed blackberry, wild berries and plum jam associated with fine notes of red fruits as well as touches of zan, black olive, tobacco, dark chocolate, wood / sweet spices and an imperceptible hint of hazelnut. The palate is fruity, wellbalanced, finely powerful and offers a nice juicy frame, a fine minerality, a fine tension, fat, a good definition, freshness and complexity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed cassis, jammy blueberry and fine notes of blackberry, black cherry, ripe small red fruits associated with touches of chocolate, vanilla, cardamom as well as an imperceptible touch of toasted almond and toasted oak. Tannins are fine and discreetly dry. Good length. The finish is relatively gourmande.

It reveals notes of cassis, black cherry and wild berries associated with touches of grove / olive, laurel as well as touches of wild strawberry and spices. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a nice mineral frame, a fine acidity, a fine juiciness, tension, freshness and a certain straightness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry, black cherry, juicy black berries and ripe / crushed Gariguette strawberry associated with touches of cassis and fine touches of zan, tobacco, wood, spices as well as a fine hint of mocha. Tannins are fine, a bit tight and very slightly / discreetly dry. Good length.

On the palate this wine expresses notes of jammy redcurrant, wild strawberry and blackberry combined with fine touches of juicy black berries / blueberries as well as touches of zain, a subtle hint of tea and chocolate (in the background). Tannins are very slightly dry. Good length.

The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a beautiful acid frame, a nice minerality, a good freshness, gourmandise, finesse, a nice fat as well as a nice definition. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh raspberry, redcurrant and small notes of fleshy cherry associated with fine touches of cassis, crushed apple as well as a hint of citrus (clementine, lemon), a subtle hint of lime zest and fine touches of flint. Good length.

Sicilia DOC The nose is fruity, gourmand and offers minerality as well as a fine richness. It reveals notes of fleshy raspberry, Tagada strawberry and small notes of redcurrant jam combined with a hint of fresh blackberry as well as a very discreet hint of flowers and subtle hints of garrigue. The palate is fruity, gourmande, fine and offers delicacy, freshness, minerality, a beautiful grain, a nice depthness, an acid frame as well as a beautiful and finely silky matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed raspberry and crushed redcurrant combined with fine touches of blackberry, Granny Smith apple as well as small notes of flint and a discreet touch of citrus zest / mandarin. Good length. Beautiful persistence.

Feudo Montoni Grillo Timpa 2016

Sicilia DOC The nose is fruity, aromatic, nicely gourmande, fresh, straight and wellbalanced. It reveals notes of exotic fruitss, apple and quenette combined with small notes of fresh white flowers as well as a touch of candied lemon / pineapple in syrup and terroir. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, a bit aerial and offers a nice acid frame, a beautiful minerality / freshness, gourmandise, a fine straightness as well as a nice matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of exotic fruitss (quenette, passion fruit) associated with touches of crushed / ripe apple, white flowers (honeysuckle, lilac …) as well as a subtle touch of flint and zest of lime / yuzu. Good length and beautiful persistence. There is a discreet hint of rocky / saline minerality on the persistence. There is a discreet touch of bitterness on the aftertaste.

It reveals notes of fresh lemon, crushed plum and fine notes of citrus associated with a touch of zest, flint / minerality and imperceptible / discreet hints of olive (in the background). The palate is fruity, perfectly balanced and offers a nice definition, a very nice freshness, a beautiful acid frame, suavity, a nice fat, a very fine unctuosity, a beautiful dynamism, a small aerial side and tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of ripe green apple, lemon and small notes of clementine associated with touches of citrus zest (lime, grapefruit …), fine touches of flint, a subtle hint of quince, crushed pear as well as an imperceptible toasted touch and almond. Good length.
