Château Le Chemin 2016 Pomerol

The nose is fruity, quite gour­mand and offers a small power. It re­veals notes of black­berry, small wild black fruits and small notes of choco­late, blue­berry as­so­ci­ated with small touches of red fruits/crushed straw­berry, vanilla, Sichuan pep­per and sweet spices. The palate is fruity, well-bal­anced, very slightly tight, well-struc­tured and offers a good def­i­ni­tion, fi­nesse, suavity, a fine acidu­lous frame, juici­ness, min­er­al­ity as well as a fine grainy sen­sa­tion. On the palate this wine ex­presses notes of fleshy black­berry, small wild black fruits and small notes of black cherry, choco­late as­so­ci­ated with toasted touches, crushed red fruits as well as dis­creet hints of car­damom and sweet spices. Tan­nins are fine and very slightly tight. Good length.

The nose is el­e­gant, aro­matic, gour­mand and offers a slight rich­ness as well as a beau­ti­ful, fine and vel­vety grain. It re­veals notes of black­berry, ripe cassis and small notes of vi­o­let as­so­ci­ated with small touches of blue fruits, cam­phor, rose, gray pep­per as well as dis­creet toasted hints and vanilla. The palate is fruity, fine, min­eral, el­e­gant, well-bal­anced and offers a beau­ti­ful fi­nesse of the grain, a good struc­ture, dy­namism as well as a slight “flu­id­ity”. On the palate this wine ex­presses notes of fleshy / juicy black­berry, juicy cassis and small notes of ripe / juicy blue fruits as­so­ci­ated with small touches of rasp­berry, pep­per, small toasted touches as well as dis­creet hints of choco­late, vanilla, nut­meg and an im­per­cep­ti­ble hint of sweet blond tobacco. Tan­nins are fine and slightly firm. Good length.

The palate is fruity, min­eral, el­e­gant, a bit aerial and offers a beau­ti­ful def­i­ni­tion, a beau­ti­ful fi­nesse, straight­ness as well as a beau­ti­ful min­eral frame. On the palate wine ex­presses notes of black­ber­ries, wild rasp­ber­ries and small notes of crushed cassis, small blue fruits as­so­ci­ated with dis­creet hints of flow­ers, spices and toasted hints / choco­late. The nose is fruity and offers a small con­cen­tra­tion, el­e­gance as well as a fine cap­ti­vat­ing side. The wine needs to be put in carafe. It re­veals notes of cassis, corn­flower, lily and small notes of crushed black­ber­ries as­so­ci­ated with small touches of ripe / crushed cherry, ripe wild rasp­berry as well as touches of Sichuan pep­per, vi­o­let, mocha, co­las and very dis­creet toasted hints in the back­ground. The palate is fruity, well-bal­anced, struc­tured, a bit re­strained (it needs time!) and offers a good / beau­ti­ful def­i­ni­tion, fi­nesse, ten­sion, a fine fleshi­ness as well as a beau­ti­ful fi­nesse of the grain. On the palate this wine ex­presses notes of fleshy small wild blue fruits, fleshy cassis and small notes of fleshy black­berry, fleshy rasp­berry as­so­ci­ated with small touches of tonka bean, small toasted touches as well as dis­creet hints of cof­fee, Sichuan pep­per, lily, very dis­creet spicy hints and an im­per­cep­ti­ble hint of nut­meg. Tan­nins are fine and struc­tur­ing. Good length. The fin­ish is slightly pow­dered. Power on the fin­ish / per­sis­tence. There are a very dis­creet hint of hazel­nut, cof­fee and a very dis­creet spicy / toasted hints on the per­sis­tence.
