Thanks to a group of students, the American artist Jeff Koons, a massive superstar in the world of contemporary art, will get a rare museum show in the United Kingdom next year. The exhibition will take place at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, from February to June 2019, featuring 17 works by the artist, 14 of which have never been shown in the United Kingdom. The project was initiated by students from the Edgar Wind Society for Art History at Oxford University, who decided to create a contemporary art prize and to award this year’s prize to Koons, who has been invited to Oxford. The plans for a retrospective of Koons’s career in the United Kingdom emerged after the artist flew to Oxford to accept the prize. Well done, students!
