Jacob Chansley
Jacob Chansley, the “QAnon Shaman” who became the face of the Capitol riots in January 2021, has pleaded guilty to one of the six charges he faces. The felony he recognised responsibility for is one of the most serious accusations, and would normally result in up to 20 years of jail time and a $250,000 fine. However, with no criminal record, Chansley will likely receive a lesser sentence. Capitol building where the U.S. Congress meets / riot act of violent demonstration / to plead, pleaded or pled guilty to recognise one’s guilt in court / charge accusation / felony major offence, crime / serious here, important, significant / jail time prison sentence / fine money paid as sanction / criminal record history of criminal convictions / likely probably.
