Aux Etats-Unis, les médias se font régulièrem­ent l’écho de « success stories », ces histoires vraies d’individus ayant réussi à monter leur entreprise à partir de pas grand chose pour atteindre des sommets. C’est ce qui se passe en ce moment pour le jeune Miguel Lozano. Il a transformé sa passion pour les chaussures en véritable industrie !

MIAMI — As a kid in Venezuela, Miguel Lozano helped his father make promotiona­l products for such wellknown names as Mercedes-Benz and Bacardi. By the time he was 12, he had hired himself out as a graphic designer and web developer for a barbershop, and while in high school in Orlando, he and a friend had an online sneaker boutique that sold limited edition — and highpriced — sneakers to collectors.

2.Now, as an encore, the 18-year-old Florida Internatio­nal University sophomore has

launched a men’s luxury footwear line that he hopes will marry his passion for shoes with his dream of becoming an entreprene­ur.

3. “I’ve always been into shoes,” said Lozano, a finance and marketing major. “I used to own a lot of them — at least 50 pairs.”

4.No longer. As a college student with limited storage space, he’s culled his collection to mostly sneakers and dress shoes. But his company, Gambino Alliance, affords him an emotional outlet. Last month he opened a Kickstarte­r account to raise money for his project. In less than 48 hours, he had made his goal of $20,000.

5.The Kickstarte­r fundraiser was just the latest step in an almost two-year process. Lozano actually began working on his footwear line back in 2015, as a college freshman.
