Disney has announced plans to unveil two streaming services: one focused on sports (expected to begin this year), and one focused on entertainment that will become available in 2019. Fueled by Disney’s existing content and 21st Century Fox’s shows and movies (following Disney’s recent deal to buy most of 21st Century Fox), this future service promises to be a major entrant into the streaming world.

APPLE

Apple is said to have more than $1 billion to spend on original content. "We are learning a lot about the original content business, and thinking about ways that we could play in that," Apple CEO Tim Cook said last year. The company has already secured the rights for a new drama starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon about a network morning show, but it doesn’t have a title or a release date yet.

FACEBOOK AND YOUTUBE

Facebook and YouTube have both said they are prepared to spend $3 million an episode for a drama. But currently, YouTube is putting its highest quality content behind a paywall, while Facebook is focusing on bringing in advertising dollars. They are both still looking for a signature hit.
