The British government has announced that British passports issued after Brexit in 2019 will be dark blue, replacing the current burgundy model used by most EU member states. The return of the navy cover, first used in 1921, is being hailed as a victory by pro-Brexit MPs. On Twitter, Prime Minister Theresa May praised the “iconic blue passport” as “an expression of our independence and sovereignty – symbolising our citizenship of a proud, great nation.” Proof that sometimes, feeling blue feels good!
