A 44-year-old Bra­zi­lian man has li­ved in a sand castle, on the beach of an up­mar­ket neigh­bou­rhood of Rio de Ja­nei­ro, for 22 years. Mar­cio Ma­to­lias, ni­ck­na­med “King Mar­cio” by his friends, has ne­ver had to pay rent thanks to his unu­sual ac­com­mo­da­tion. His castle fea­tures a 3x3m be­droom and is held up by a ma­ke­shift woo­den frame.
