The video game Fortnite, first released in 2017, has been accused of creating widespread addiction for its players, sending kids throughout the world to gaming rehab. According to Lorrine Marer, a British behavioral specialist, this video game “is like heroin. Once you are hooked, it’s hard to get unhooked.” An online U.K. divorce service also said that 200 petitions cited Fortnite and other video games as the reason for marriage breakup this year. More than 200 million people play Fortnite worldwide.
