A Feast of Feinstein

Where Paris - - Arts & Attractions -

The streets, buildings and businesses of Manhattan in the 1960s to the 1980s are revealed in the landmark photographs of the American photographer Harold Feinstein in an exhibition entitled Graciously Yours at the Galerie Thierry Bigaignon, which is presenting 21 of his photographs. The photographer had a knack for capturing the beautiful in everyday movements and gestures for in the streets of New York, Feinstein seemed to have seen only beauty, grace and elegance be it in smoke-filled coffee shops, store windows, subway cars, Times Square or the streets of Harlem. These black and white photographs record for eternity the everyday life of a host of New Yorkers. Harold Feinstein used to describe his images as “a small sampling of [his] photographic journey bearing witness of the beauty and mystery of this human life.” - P.V. Showing through to August 31st Hôtel de Retz, Bâtiment A, 9 rue Charlot (3rd), 01 83 56 05 82
