The culinary capital is still continuing its love affair with tapas dining and the city’s new offering is Uma Nota. This new table is where Brazilian meets Japanese cuisine, and it is turning out to be a hit, not just for its flavoursome dishes but its creative cocktails that combine the best of both culinary cultures. Start your evening with the Cawasabi cocktail, a Japanese take on the popular Caipirinha cocktail courtesy of a wasabi syrup that gives the Brazilian cocktail quite the kick, before settling in for some great sharing plates. Try the Beef Tataki salad seasoned with a sesame seed Brazilian vinaigrette, the misoglazed roasted eggplant topped with goat cheese and cashews, or the Tuna Picadito with the tuna tartare served on crispy tortilla chips. The colourful menu also accommodates for vegetarians and gluten-free patrons, with dishes clearly marked on the menu. – S.I. Uma Nota 86 rue Réaumur (2nd)
