A Celebration of Complications
The house of Frédérique Constant is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year with the launch of a limited edition Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon Manufacture of which only, and fittingly, 30 timepieces have been fashioned. The watch’s mechanism is stunning with its silicium escapement wheel and anchor, a smart weight balance wheel and the eye- catching tourbillon cage. Silicium is a material that is light, durable, antimagnetic and extremely resistant to temperature changes all offering great progress to precision. The cage of the tourbillon is perfectly balanced and composed of 80 parts conceived and produced, as are all of the house’s movements, in the manufacture’s workshops. The watch’s highly sophisticated Perpetual Calendar complication displays the day, date and month and acknowledges the number of days in each month, displays the year and automatically adjusts itself to the leap year. The timepieces are outfitted with a power reserve of 38 hours and are presented in a 42mm diameter case that is available in polished stainless steel, 18 carat rose gold plated stainless steel or in 18 carat rose gold, with a see through back case. - P.V.
