LENK SIMMENTAL
We said it about Adelboden four years ago and we reiterate it today : Adelboden-Lenk’s slopes are magnificent and up to the standard of the greatest European ski areas. This ski area provides long and varied slopes for every level, set in the heart of splendid scenery. What a pity that many skiers from French-speaking Switzerland are not inquisitive enough to explore it when it’s so nearby !
You have a number of interesting options when you arrive at the peak of Metschstand (2100 m). There are two fine wide red runs (n° 39 and 44), which, difficulty-wise, are not too « bright » red, so to speak. They do not require a high level of technique and thus are suitable for skiing with the family. Alternatively, there is the legendary giant slalom slope of World Cup fame, if you take n° 62 (blue) and the chair lift to Höchsthorn (C15).
The only small disappointment is that it’s not possible to get back down to the village with your skis on. You have to take the cable car to Rothenbach (B1). If you’ve decided to do only a few hours of skiing, the other area on the right of the map is perfectly suitable.
