Efficient on the road

-

„The future is mobile,“says a variety of sources. And that also applies to music production: Thanks to the extensive digitization of work processes, it is now possible to create first-class productions outside of large recording temples. With these six tips, working „on the road“becomes more efficient and targeted.

Tip 1: Leave enough headroom

It may sound trivial at first, but it is especially important when recording on location: not too high a level! The moment directly at the location may not be repeatable! The Revolution 2x2 converts at 24 bit and, therefore, has more than enough dynamic range that a more relaxed leveling is unproblematic.

Tip 2: Record right way

Singing the spontaneous idea on your cell phone and recording it again later in the studio is a good idea in theory. In practice, however, the emotion of the moment often cannot be reproduced in the studio. That‘s why it‘s best to record directly with high-quality preamps to avoid giving away the feeling.

Tip 3: Use high quality converters

Non-studio recordings often introduce annoying background noise and other sound effects. Much of this can be salvaged in post-processing - the better, the higher the quality of the digital recordings. The Revolution 2x2‘s proprietary clocking technology ensures finely recorded signals without conversion artifacts, perfect for post-processing adjustments.

Tip 4: Not all stereo is the same

If you are recording real stereo signals, for example location ambience, choirs or acoustic instruments, you should pay special attention to the quality of the preamps in the interface. Deviations between the two channels can distort the stereo image. The preamps in the Revolution 2x2 are finely tuned and precisely manufactured - the stereo field is just right.

Tip 5: Headphones for monitoring

On the road, you rarely have your monitor speakers with you and never the acoustically optimized room; therefore, it makes sense to invest in good reference headphones if you work outside the studio a lot. The Revolution 2x2‘s headphone amplifier, which is unusually high quality for this price range, sounds extremely transparent and honest. It also effortlessly drives high-impedance headphones.

Tip 6: Clean power, clean signal

In rehearsal rooms, hotel rooms or trains, you can never be sure how stable and clean the power supply is. The Revolution 2x2 has Black Lion Audio‘s PG-i filter technology already integrated and is also well protected from other disruptive interference. This allows you to reliably capture authentic signals at the highest quality.

?? ?? High-quality capacitors, decoupling of the analog section from AD/DA converters and integrated PG-i current filtering make the Revolution 2x2 an interface that should set standards.
