Peak & Summit 2.0

-

The 8-voice desktop behemoth Peak and its 16-voice brother Summit with 61-key keyboard are Novation‘s synth flagships. Both instruments offer three oscillators per voice, multimode filters and three distortion stages. With the high-resolution digital oscillators (NCOs), typical analog sounds are possible as well as digital wavetables and FM. A total of 60 wavetables are already available. Great: You can even design your own waveforms in a wavetable editor. The crisp analog multimode filter is also versatile.

Several modulations are already pre-wired, additionally a 16-fold matrix with four LFOs, envelopes and other sources are also waiting to be used. Unusual: Even the effect parameters can be modulated. The entire sound generation of the Peak is duplicated in the Summit, including the arpeggiator and all effects, which makes expressive splits and layered sounds possible. Summit also offers a stereo input for sending external signals through filters and effects. In version 2, Novation has not only given both instruments detail improvements and optimizations, but also new effects such as flanger, „phlanger“and a lo-fi delay, as well as expanded stereo options and an improved modulation section.

Summit and Peak are extremely versatile hybrid synthesizers, depending on your taste they offer analog warm or digital undercooled sound. From round monophonic basses to digital leads to silky pads and crystal clear arpeggios, everything is included. The instruments always sound assertive and very musical and convincingly master almost all types of synthesizer sounds. The versatile sound generation and the direct operability make them interesting for beginners as well as for advanced sound wizards.
