Prime Bass

-

A 1981 Fender Precision Bass was sampled in rich detail for the first bass in Native Instruments‘ Session series. Session Bassist - Prime Bass features two Kontakt instruments, one for rhythm playing and one for melodies. The Rhythm patch combines over 350 patterns and phrases in many styles, which sound very diverse thanks to the use of different articulations. Great: The MIDI patterns can be exported using drag & drop. With the Melody instrument, you can switch between open and muted notes, harmonics and slapping with key switches. The virtual bass can be played monophonically or polyphonically, either with the fingers or with a pick. Slides, hammer-ons, pull-offs and fret sounds are inserted automatically.

The fact that, in addition to the playing style, the sound can also be adjusted in a variety of ways is, of course, a matter of honor! Two microphone signals can be combined and driven through great sounding replicas of guitar amps and speakers, as well as floor and modulation effects.

Verdict

Prime Bass captures the versatile sound of the Fender Precision Bass well and can, therefore, enhance a wide variety of styles such as Blues, Rock, Metal, Pop, Reggae, Funk, R&B or Disco with gripping grooves. Thanks to the large selection of style-typical patterns and phrases, the Melody instrument and the convincing effect chains, you can quickly and easily give your songs a rousing bass foundation. While other virtual basses offer more articulations, Prime Bass is remarkably easy and musical to play.
